A communications graduate, Davina Goh’s career spans sixteen years in theatre, TV, digital media, radio and film.
Her last notable stage appearance was in the two-person play, Matt Cameron’s Ruby Moon, staged at the KL Performing Arts Centre in 2013.
Davina has had experience in numerous other fields including teaching, playwriting, spoken word and dance.
In 2010 she was a newscaster and travel host for Myanmar’s first English TV station, Myanmar International TV (MITV); her work there included news coverage of the country’s first general election in 25 years and the release of political prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi.
In 2013, Davina left her full-time event management job of nine years to to train with 32nd Generation warrior monks in Maling Shaolin Kung Fu Academy in Jiangsu Province, China for 8 months.
During her training, she maintained a bi-weekly opinion column ‘The Gratitudist’ in the online edition of Malaysian English-language daily The Star.
Upon her return from China, she has appeared as a motivational speaker at TEDxWeldQuay 2014 and events organized by General Electric, HP, Berjaya Corporation and iM4U, and worked as a full-time announcer for Astro Radio format station Lite FM for a year.
As an Ambassador for Zen Swim Malaysia, she raised over RM23,000 for marine conservation in her crowdfunding campaign, ‘Davina’s Epic Swimathon Challenge’, where she successfully swam and kayaked 18km in open waters, as part of the Raleigh Round Island Challenge at Perhentian Island, Malaysia, in May 2016.
She currently freelances as an Emcee, Performer and VoiceOver artiste.
Her interests include animal welfare, voluntary simplicity, fitness, vegan cooking and travel.
